We
guarantee you will enjoy our entertainment at the
Matilda Country Tourist Park.
Bush
Poetry is an integral part of your Winton experience. Banjo
Paterson wrote 'Waltzing Matilda' at the Combo Waterhole, near
Winton and the song was first performed here before the Governor
of Queensland in 1895.
Gloria Hitson prepared campfire
meals and recited poetry for tourists 20 years ago here in the
Matilda and there has been a poet in residence in the park ever
since.
Melanie
Hall
and Susie Carcary are the headline
act over the winter season. These 2 pocket rockets will give
you a great night of comedy and song. The girls will take you
on a journey that will make you laugh and cry. Their passion
for our wonderful lingo and our unique Aussie heritage will have
you in stitches and bring back some memories. They perform a different
show in the shed nightly at 7pm.
The
Shed also features a great range of live music. Over the last
winter season we wecolmed Graham Roger,
country music singer and guitarist. If you liked Slim Dusty
you'll love Graham Roger. Graham has won many awards and accolades
at Tamworth and many other country music festivals. Graham performs
for happy hour in the green shed nightly at 4.30pm.
Let's
hark back to the good old travelling family bands and welcome
two great families who are on the road with their own style of
music and song.
The Lou Bradley Traveling
Band cruised into Winton with Victorian family band, The Cartwheels and wowed us with
their friendly and fantastic sound. A double bass, banjo, 2
guitars and 2 stunning voices combine to give you a wonderful
afternoon's entertainment. Lou and the Cartwheels perform at
happy hour in the shed whenever they breeze into town.
"We
reckon you'll rave about our entertainment all the way down
the track!"
